This series has quickly turned into one of my all time favorites. First of all, Nisha Tuli is a brilliant story teller. She weaves beautiful plot with a wonderfully built world, and perfectly flawed yet loveable characters. She has you guessing and second guessing where the story will take you. And I'm here to tell you I am strapped in and screaming with delight and sometimes terror with the rollercoaster ride this book takes you on. Read. This. Series. It's funny, and heartbreaking, and beautiful, and frustrating, and perfect.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Nisha Tuli for the eARC.

OML - I nearly broke my kindle reading this!  It was about to get chucked against the wall then stamped on.  Then I remembered that there is still book 4 to come and I managed to get my blood pressure back to semi normal!!!!

Lor and Nadir are like the ultimate power couple.  She's all untapped magic, pent up rage and sarcastic humour to cover her trauma and he's the bad boy Fae, with a tender heart and a supportive streak.  Nadir should be a narcistic playboy but he's managed to preserve his soul playing Fae politics!

Lor still has trouble taking anything or anyone at face value - always waiting for that other shoe to drop or the sleaze to ooze through someone's personality.  Her relationship with Nadir definitely suffers for it.  But I love the way that Nadir and his comrades are just there for Lor and her family. They become an epic extended found family. The traumatic childhood and time incarcerated has affected Lor, Tristan and Willow in different ways but they are stronger for it and refuse to allow it to define them.  Willow may not have the powers of her siblings but that girl is cunning and sly and would make a perfect Spy Commander!

Gabriel actually redeems himself a bit in this book.  We learn more about his backstory and just why he's so obedient to a man he clearly hates.  There is a lot of redemption being sought in this storyline.  There are many POV's in the book which adds to the complexity and pacing of the story but not so many that you get lost.

That cliffhanger is a doozy and as I've already said - I kind of wanted to unalive the kindle because of it!

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the gifted review copy!

Offers a compelling narrative with a dual timeline, intricate backstory, and complex relationships. The story delves deeper into the history of the gods and their artefacts, with surprising twists related to the goddess Zerra. The relationship between Lor and Nadir, as well as the insights into Gabriel's character, add depth to the plot. The book ends with a cliffhanger, building anticipation for the final installment.

WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS TO US?! Warning: huge cliffhanger! This was sooo good. I feel like every book just gets better and better. I cannot wait for the next one! Ugh I love alllll of the characters in this book which is crazy to say but even our antagonist have so many layers to them. Every one is multi dimensional  with great character development.  Nisha has created a great world here and has great storytelling. I am anxious for the next one because I don't know what Nisha is going to throw at us next!

And yes the spice was chefs kiss.

Thank you so much for the ARC!

Initial thoughts after finishing this:
I beg your FINEST pardon. I said the first book started with a bang but holy fuck this one ends with one of the biggest plot twist and cliffhanger I’ve ever read. You’re telling me that I now have to wait however long for the final book??

This book combines the best elements of the first and second book and it was so addictive. We have all of the action from the first book, plus all of the character development from the 2nd book, plus more beautiful world building, and FINALLY some oh so lovely spice!

As always, Nisha always finds a way to subtly add in current world issues and discusses them so well.
I also always really appreciate the way that Nisha is able to work in other sensitive topics (in this case SA) and finds a way to handle them delicately and with grace.

Nisha truly outdid herself with this book and has easily made her way into my top 3 favorite authors. If you’ve been on the fence about reading this book then absolutely do it. I promise you won’t regret it.

Absolutely incredible. I was sucked in from the very beginning and couldn’t wait to read more and MORE. Some parts were so intense I had to take breaks before coming back to it (short ones because I had to know what was going to happen next). I NEED the next book right now because that ending absolutely destroyed me

enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance, third installment in the Artefacts of Ouranos series.

What this book has in store for you:
-multi POVs
-flashbacks/past timelines
-fated mates
-found family
-spice

Fate of the Sun King brings new depth and world building into the picture. I am really enjoying the inclusion of past timelines and the "lore" brought to the foreground. The downfall for me was pace of this installment. I was so excited for new povs and getting to see other sides of the characters we've grown to love, but it ended up creating a lot of repetition in the novel. We'd go back in time and get answers but then still have to hear our current characters figure it out and explain it again. Along with that, I felt like the scheming and planning were so much of this story and it lacked intrigue and action. However, it is still an addictive series and I can't wait for the next one. Not sure if it's the finale or not, but if it is, I'm sure it will come together marvelously!

P.S. Be prepared for a huge cliffhanger at the end that will have you counting down the days until the next installment!
