Excellent introduction to the kings and the women in their lives

I enjoyed reading about the characters that will be in the series. These men were brought together by tragedy to their mentor, Khalil Germaine who was the father that each one of these men needed as impressionable boys who attended a specialized magnet school that their mentor/father established. He trusted them to take care of the Castle and return it back to the establishment it was meant to be. Each king has his own specialized talent that takes care of a specific area of the Castle.

But all of these men harbor secrets and all of them have been attacked by the old guard Castle members as well as those who seek to control it. It will be interesting to see what is going to be in store in future books. So far, I am very intrigued by Vikkas and Milan

DNF.

I understand that this was an introduction to the series and the characters that will have their own books but I just couldn’t read this. I read about 25% when I decided to stop. There was just way too much going on with each chapter introducing who, I assume, will be the Kings. None of it is initially tied together though that may happen later in the book. I’m going to just skip this intro and hope the other books in the series are easier to read and follow.

The Kings, Nine young boys, now men that were at one point in their life mentored by Khalil Germaine. Now that Khalil needs them, each one is requested to come back and bring the Castle back to where it was originally set to be and protect it and the women they love at all cost. The story seems to be a little busy at the start, but that's more than likely because this book introduces each of the men that will be in future stories. One good thing about this book is although it was written by multiple authors, I had a hard time distinguishing which author wrote which part except one, and I'm thinking it's because I read the book that the characters came from (it was good to hear from them by the way and I can't wait to see what else happens with them. Also no, it's not mandatory to read that book before reading this one.) I loved the interaction between the characters, especially with Vikkas and what he had to deal with his mother. I can't wait to read the other books in the series.

Great introduction to a cast of potentially great characters.

Interesting premise. I liked reading about the world and whatnot of The Castle but there were a lot of people to try and remember between all the different chapters and perspectives. Thank you to Macro Publishing Group on Netgalley for an advanced copy to read.
