Another book about trans people for cis people, very disappointing from a non-binary author. And let's not even talk about the sexual/romantic cousin relationship.

What a beautifully profound book about identity, life, and loss. Vivek’s story was beautiful and powerful and devastating all at once.

I really wish that Osita would have been made to be a close family friend instead of a cousin, and although I am sure that Emezi had reasons for doing this, it was hard for me to see past, which is the only reason that this is not a 5 star book for me.

That being said, I will definitely be reading more from this author, their writing was really powerful.

I really liked most of the book there’s just some little details I feel like they needed to be cleared that’s my only reason to rate 4.5 stars , also vívek’s chapters were so good and sad
