Don’t love multiple POV’s in different books bc I feel like I’m rereading the same thing, and I preferred persephone’s perspective but there was enough new info to still make it pretty interesting!

while it was interesting to see the sorry from hades perspective it’s is the exact same story i’ve just read i feel like it felt abit uneed would probably be better if they split narrative was told in one book
I’m not sure how to feel about this book. I touched on this in my review for the first book in the series… The Hermes/Persephone mythology is based on rape, according to a close friend who teaches the classics. As I suspected, it was hard for me to not think about that at every step of this book. When I listen to it with that perspective, it was hard to not attend to the power differential that seems more present from Herme’s perspective than Persephone’s perspective.
That said, this book, in many ways is full on smut. If I didn’t know the mythical history, I suspect I would have rated it higher.
The writing at times feels a bit basic… maybe this is because it’s from a male God‘s perspective?

Hades perspective truly is much more interesting. Not only with the whole plotline with the human rebels (forget what they're called) but also just seeing more of how the gods interact with each other.
I still find this series in general to be kind of silly and trashy but I'm interested enough that I just want to get to the last book and see what happens lol. As always, it's like 50% smut, 50% story. I get through the books pretty fast with all the skimming I do for the smut pages lol.

I liked Hades’ POV more since there is so much more action happening on his side of the story. I did miss hearing from Hades in the first book. There is a lot that is revealed in this book to make the story still feel new.
I absolutely love this book! Scarlett St. Clair does a wonderful job of breathing life into the characters. She stays true to the mythos while updating the characters to a modern era. The plot is fabulous and I know I'll be reading this book again!

Pretty good. It was fun seeing Hades’ perspective along with other things that were happening behind the scenes that Persephone wasn’t aware of.
The male narrotor for the audiobook left much to be desired, though.

lowkey ate but i was embarrassed to be reading the smut in public
Wonderful redention of Hades x persephone
What a wonderful treat to read it in Hades point of view after experiencing Persephone story. A must read after A touch of darkness. The reading experience of knowing how he felt during certain scenes brings joy to this readers heart. Hades is a little obsessed with Persephone and sex. Rather fun to read as all he could think of all the time. I definitely need to reread each book at the same time, I believe it will way more fun.
Intriguing take on Greek gods and how they would be in modern world, yet still feel the ancient behind it all.
Just love the cast Hecate and Hermes are absolutely hoot to read and gives the story some much needed levity.
Definitely one of my favourite retelling of a epic love story, of darkness seeking light.
Highly recommended read and I am definitely reading the next books. Persephone and Hades books.
