There's some stuff I liked and stuff I didn't like, but I enjoyed reading it overall, and I'll never be mad reading a book I had fun reading.

🌶️: Loved it

FMC: I liked Indie. She's smart, empathetic, and doesn't really take shit. I love that she stood up to her piece of shit stepdad and bitch of a mother. I wanted more scenes with her and Jupiter because I waa crying over that damn horse, so I wanted to see more of that relationship.

MMC: Took me a while to warm up to Astor. He was kind of just an immoral dick for a bit there. Morally grey is great, but we need balance. We do get that from him, but I would have liked it a little sooner and to have been more about who is on his own and the FMC just amplifies it, rather than it essentially coming all from his interaction with her. However...Astor could fuck me up, smack my ass, slam my body into every wall, and I'd be like, "Can we go again?"

One thing that was really missing for me which kept this from a higher rating was the development of the characters and how they interact with one another. It's a short read, so we only get glimpses of Indie's parents, and not much of that is an actual interaction. That's where the disconnect came from for me.

Enjoyed it overall and would read more.
