I loved the concept of the book. But I could predict every part of the plot. The characters were nice. The writing style annoyed my with all the crosses out phrases.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Young Readers for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review!
WOW I loved this book! If I could pick a comp title for this book, it would be Waitress. If you've ever seen Waitress the Musical, you know how the main character makes pies that reflect her life. I felt as if every Breakup List that Jackson wrote was placed in the book just like the pies in Waitress. Each list reflected a part of his and Jasmine's lives.
As a stage manger, this book felt so REAL to me. It was so detailed, I was getting flashbacks to my own time stage managing in high school. I got really invested in the relationship between Jackson and his director.
Very minor gripes I had: UT doesn't have early decision, but they do have early action admission (again, VERY minor gripe). And I would have loved if the book ended with Jackson choosing to go to TXST for stage management (but I may be biased haha).
In all seriousness, I really loved this book. Every part of it was perfect. Can't wait to add this to my re-read rotation!

a theater kid gets with a swimmy athlete kid. this is such a dear of a book! I always love it when the nerd kid believes they're the reacher, and the athlete kid believes they're the reacher, and the nerd kid eventually figures out they've been the one to be a bit of a jerk. so warm and sweet this book. loved it.
