haven’t read a book with over like 300 pages in ages so this was quite challenging for me.

i don’t think i enjoyed this quite as much as i did when i first read it at about age 10-12, but i did still enjoy it.

equally excited and terrified to read the sequels now, hopefully before the new book comes out.

wish me luck, i just picked the second one up from my bookshelf and cried a little when i saw how many pages were before me.

I just can't get over how boring this was. I realise how much world building was needed for this story but the characters could have made it much more enjoyable and I just didn't feel that from them. I mean, no humor, no depth (besides being the "chosen" one and being frustrated about the journey and choice etc etc) - which I find uninteresting and overdone - there wasn't even a romance to mix things up which strangely, I kinda needed. I may or may not continue this series but that's going to be a hard choice seeing as how these books are so dense.

Thank you audiobooks for making this read possible + bearable.

I'm re-reading this wonderful series to prepare for the release of the last book- Inheritance. So excited!

All I can say is...WOW!!! I love this book and now I am going to have to read the whole series. I am amazed by how incentive and imaginitive this author is!

People have been telling me for years to read this series because they knew I would love it and they were right. It is so good. I was blown away by the writing, knowing how young Paolini was when he wrote it. [It's one of those magical things that makes you think there is no way you can write a book at twice his age XD]

I would consider this epic fantasy as it is an incredible journey that Eragon goes on. The lessons he learns and the bonds he forges are truly beautiful. I look forward to reading the rest of the series in time.

Personal notes: Fantasy, dragons, epic adventure lists. Elves, Dwarves, Humans, and magic wielders.
I'm leaning toward Gryffindors for this one.
