What a ride. Fated Blades was a really fun read! :) It's Ilona Andrews. Kickass couple, banter and bloodshed ahead. I adore this series. This book also wasn't very dark, which I loved. I still felt light-hearted even with all the crazy family drama.

Cheating trope handled well and convincingly.

I'm running out of Ilona Andrews' books and that makes me sad... This is their newest novella and I really enjoyed it a lot (no surprise here). This one really expanded the Kinsmen universe a lot, but I have to say... it's not my favourite. My biggest complain is that the ending was a little bit too rushed, I think it's because the authors felt that they already crossed their word limit, so they were just trying to wrap everything quickly, but... they just made me count pages and all the things that needed to happen on them and that made me deeply stressed out, which made the whole ending less satisfying. The whole dynamic was otherwise amazing, I even enjoyed the forbidden love trope, which isn't my top favourite. Both Matias and Ramona are - again - of course amazing, but... in the end [b:Silver Shark|12620241|Silver Shark (Kinsmen, #2)|Ilona Andrews|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1316029956l/12620241._SY75_.jpg|17649475] is still a fave. Aside from the rushed ending this book doesn't really have any flaws, it's just my personal preference...

Completely average piece of tosh.

I'm a bit torn on this one. I'm generally a fan of Ilona Andrews books, but this one felt a bit like a novella that should have been stretched out to a proper novel, rather than an actual proper novel. Especially the end felt rushed and incomplete. There was even an element of the ending that felt incredibly contrived and unrealistic. Hard to forgive that sort of thing when it's the taste that gets left in your mouth. You could consider it with a positive spin that it's so short/short feeling, I suppose-- it was an easy read after all... But it felt like it underdelivered as a new book from an author I normally really enjoy. This is a perfectly serviceable book of it's type, but isn't as good as usual from this author (authors), so I'm dinging it for feeling like this should still be worked on a bit more instead of already published.

This was a nice novella.

The reason for which I didn't give it full 5 stars was because of the large frequency in repetitions of how badass the main characters were. It got a bit annoying into the middle of the book.
A minor thing was also that the epilogue felt a bit hurried.

Otherwise, the book had a nice plot and the cover is gorgeous.

Bloody fantastic!! No, I'm not Brittish, but it was bloody and it was fantastic. I think this is my first book by Ilona Andrews and what a way to get introduced to an authors work. I really don't know how she got so much packed into this novella. And if you are wondering if you can read book 3 without reading book 1 & 2? I can easily answer yes to that.

The best way I can describe what I loved about this so much was..well, first the heroine. Ramona is a very powerful and deadly heroine. I love when a woman can be just as deadly if not more than a man. I cheered her on with glee. She also was compassionate. She didn't kill just to kill. She cared about people. She really was the best of both traits.

Matias is the second reason this was so good. For a hero, I like them just as powerful and deadly. He really seemed to be a cold, calculated character but he had some fluff deep down. To me, that's everything I like in a hero. Add in loyal and protective and that's it, I'm done.

Third reason is the how these two came together and what they did to right some wrongs. Both of them are enemies and to see them band together to eradicate a common evil made for a very exciting storyline.

I completely devoured this book and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't end on a cliffhanger. I'm not against series for a couple, but it's also nice to read a book and not have to wait to find out more. I loved it and I will re-read it... probably many times.
