I liked this book a lot! There is something about children being at the forefront of a mysterious plot.. I dont know why but it always intrigues me. This gave me 'The Chalk Man' vibes a little bit. Maybe it was the 80's or the atmosphere. I have to google though b/c I am not sure I picked up the actual big spoiler. I need to double check I got it right.

Probably more of a 3.5 for me. Seemed predictable in spots but still a compelling story, Young boys are disappearing- many of them have newspaper routes. What is happening to them? Who do we live among?

This book was very engaging. I read it in 6 hours and it kept me at the edge of my seat. I had no idea about the history of the real kidnappings and all the twists and turns on this book were great.

A heart wrenching story that touches base on the paperboy kidnappings of 1980. I loved this book, the characters are filled with emotional turmoil as they try their best to figure out what happened to the boys. I think one of this books weaknesses was its ending and length. We spend so much time in certain areas that in return made the ending feel rushed and unfinished. This book had a lot of potential and beside its flaws it is still a truly enjoyable novel, I couldn't put it down, even when it dragged.

This was very well done and did not end as I thought it would.
It should come with a trigger warning.
