I know, I know I am late to game on this book. I have been wanting to read it for years and SO WORTH IT!!! As always Ellen Hopkins takes me on a journey that is heartbreaking and raw but she makes it so real!! One of my favorite authors.
If I could give this book 10 stars I would. It was captivating. I could feel myself in her shoes. It was exciting and sad.
Absolutely realistic and horrifying. Which is why you have to read it.
This book changed my life.

It wasn't my cup of tea at first. However, Crank kept my attention long enough to finish the book. While I did enjoy it, I can't see myself going further with this series.
Did not care for the prose over narrative. Loses its impact.
Couldn't bring myself to finish it. I can't believe this book was in the teen section of my library. If I can't even finish it due to content, I definitely do not want my daughter reading it!!

Holy hell
This book deserves every award it got. Such an immersive feeling in a teen’s mind surrounding such hard topics. The language and structure is perfect for the subject matter. Each word has purpose.
I cannot keep reading this series though. As a mom, I cannot keep reading about this teenager having a baby who has serious addictions… no deal.

Again, I can't believe that parents let their children read this type of literature... and I guess it's good for them to do so, because they have this resilence that they have to build up.... and teaching them about life is all about learning different things and I guess this is the point... (maybe)....I'm really unsure on this one.
