Running theme for Lauren that she does the build up very well but the climax and ending is abrupt and unsatisfying. Brit and hunter were cute

Last and best book in Oxford series.I adored Brit and Hunter(my favorite man) as big fan of a good friends to lovers story this one delivered that plus add him teaching her the "art of seduction" what more do you want.Brit and Hunter are delightfully blind to the fact that they’re perfect for each other.

They’d all be there. For one another. Always.

It was the perfect conclusion to all Oxford and Stiletto series

the stupidity of the characters in the last few chapters was torture!!! ugh :/

i think i should finally accept that lauren layne has, como se dice, lost her touch?? this being the final book of the series, i was expecting to be blown away but all i got was 20+ chapters of meh??? the only reason i’m rating 3 stars is because of the fond memories from the first few books this last book gave me.

i’m gonna miss the whole stiletto and oxford crew but i really believe that lauren layne should’ve ended the series with emma and cassidy’s story 😩❤️ that was by far my favorite of the whole series and would’ve served as the perfect ending. oh well 🤷‍♀️

Okay...Where do I begin with this? I liked the story. It was great. I felt their chemistry. I was kind of disappointed with the ending. That spark wasn't there, maybe because I felt it was stupid for her to just you know leave her life for him. Maybe I'm a bit biased. It wasn't anything new or different. It was great, the writing. The speaking was a hit questionable to me but I assumed they spoke like that because of their career status if that makes sense. The ending ruined most of the book for me and I don't know, I got annoyed at the point when they were friends and side pieces (you know what I mean). I thought about giving up and not finishing it about 85 percent into the book. The other half of me wasn't about to put all that work for nothing, so I continued it. Hated the ending but good storyline. 3 stars. Could've been a bit better. Nice work though!

✩ 3.75 stars.

’There was something wonderfully carefree about skating on a cold winter’s day with his . . . best friend. Finally, he tugged her hand slightly to slow her, then more firmly to bring her around to face him. Brit’s eyes were bright, her cheeks and nose red as she grinned up at him. “Oh, I forgot how fun that can be. Like flying.”
He smiled and touched a gloved finger to her nose. “You’re all pink. You look cold.”

that scene had me swooning.
these two had such great chemistry, i was going through phases of shock as i was reading because i didn’t expect it! i loved their relationship in the beginning, when things started to shift between them, when one would start feeling jealous seeing the other with someone else, the sexual tension, the push and pull, their first kiss! loved. it. if it weren’t for the little drama at the end, my rating would’ve been higher. :(

WELL WHAT DID I SAY...BEST FRIENDS TO LOVERS WILL NEVER EVER GO WRONG BRITHUNTER GAVE ME THE ABSOLUTE BUZZ HEAD FULL THOUGHTS ONLY ABOUT THEM

that epilogue...i might’ve shed a tear or two. no not kidding, i binged the whole series in one go and now i’m so sad it’s over. i love all of the characters so much and i’m feeling melancholy right now...

i love all of the couples but if i could rank top 4 at least its emmacassidy & brithunter (they take number one together), daisylincoln, taylornick

im not a huge fan of friends to lovers, and i honestly went into this book with subpar expectations. but MAN did hunter step it up. the middle climax of this book was three stars worthy. the rest however, was NOT. first of all, these "friends" were way too comfortable doing the things they did with each other, especially the whole thing where brit is like draped all over hunter's lap during their movie nights... like ma'am who are you fooling with the whole we don't like each other routine. second of all, alex cassidy was RIGHT. calling hunter out for keeping brit to himself all this time but yet never making a move. he was right on the mf MONEY. so happy to see hunter read to death like that. third, the moving back home and not telling brit plot... random and unnecessary. literally created drama and for what, she's your best friend and you're so goddamn dramatic. can't believe brit got a plane ticket and was about to MOVE TO A NEW STATE for this man. like let him win YOU back sis.
anyway, so sad to see the Oxford-Stiletto series end. very much wish we could get more of this world and more of this New York (cleaner than usual). i hope to reread these books in the future, but right now we are moving on to the rest of lauren laynes backlist <3
