A beautiful story that lives up to the Ghibli comparisons. It follows Eva on her quest to become a novice witch, travelling to a new town to help, and making lots of friends along the way.
The introduction to the story was a lot of fun, setting up the stakes and the world brilliantly. Despite the amount of worldbuilding, it never felt overwhelming. The descriptions of the world and characters create a vivid image of picturesque world that I'd love to visit.
The relationships with the various characters develop in an organic way throughout the book. Most of the characters fit familiar archetypes that work perfectly for this kind of story.
The dramatic conclusion had me on the edge of my seat and I found it hard to stop reading! It was so nice how all the elements of the story came back together for a satisfying conclusion! The ending also had me immediately looking to buy the next book in the series. I adore this world, and I'm so excited to explore it more!
