I’ll have one of whatever Mr. Blake was having when he wrote this. Farcical and nonsensical throughout, yet with brief splashes of thought provoking discourse, Blake was definitely on a different plane of thought while writing this one. A short and oft-humorous piece; it’s a damn shame the entire work wasn’t preserved.

I’ll leave you with my favorite lines, spoken by two of the philosopher characters:

“The trumpeter shit in his hat,” said the Epicurean.
“––& clapt it on his head,” said the Pythagorean.

Satire, macht sich über eine Zeit und Zeitgenossen lustig, die ich nicht kenne.
