This was almost too slow at points. Like it took until 50% in to even get a first kiss and usually that’s not a problem for me but there was no tension or anything. I will say I LOVED the strangers to friends to lovers relationship between Liam and Tessa. I also LOVED how kind and patient Liam was with Tessa. What really sold this for me was in the end the problem came to a head and SPOILER ALERT‼️‼️‼️Tessa is kidnapped I really really really love how she ended up saving herself. It was a full circle moment for her that I absolutely loved. Oh and the cat 😂 I loved the cat.

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-Rockstar Hero
-“Damaged” heroine (victim of domestic violence, in hiding)
-Opposites attract
-Small town vibes
-Suspense subplot (H being stalked by a fan, h in hiding from her abusive ex-fiancé)
-Second book in a series but can be read as a standalone (events from previous book mentioned in passing)
-Dual POV

TWs for domestic violence, violence against women, gaslighting, stalking, self harm, attempted suicide, mental health issues, kidnapping, murder

I loved this!!! Not as angsty as I thought it would be and the ending wrapped up a little too nicely for my taste, but I absolutely loved Liam and Tessa together. Liam was the perfect pining hero that worshipped the ground the heroine walked on and I was here for it. These two earned every bit of their happily ever after.

Story: 4/5
