This is a constant issue the author has along the series, giving their female lead to much of a dark background, which makes the book seem superficial about the issues they portray. I don't think what the author wrote was disrespectful, but a romance novel isn't the place to develop a plot about taking a sexual abuser down. It may seem out-of-touch and very awkward to read.

I loved this book! My only critique is that the characters seemed really similar to those in the first book, The Bromance Book Club. I feel as though Mack had a very similar personality to Gavin, and Liv to Thea.

love love loved this one! it honestly made me more critical of “crazy stupid bromance” because undercover bromance did such an amazing job of taking difficult subject matter and weaving it into a fun and romantic story. i loved liv and mack’s chemistry and wit, as well as both of their personalities! i also liked how both mack and liv learned something about themselves and how they could be better allys to women by the end of the book. .5 off just for some cringey wording during some of the spicy scenes, but overall i loved this book and will likely read it again!
