i love a good book about terrible women.

each story was excellent, i was very fond of the first one but torn apart by the third. the narrator is so well written and immersive it made me want to hate my boyfriend too. i wish i knew more about french/the translation since i could tell there was a bit of nuance in the language that was lost on me. but simone is certainly a new favorite author of mine, this is my first time reading her fiction. it was also fun to read this in paris, reading about a lunch date in parc montsouris while lounging in a post-picnic-cheese-comatose in parc montsouris :)

I was oblivious of what this book entails before I started reading it. I am uncertain whether I'll consider that as an advantage or not as I was unprepared for every word contained. However, "The Woman Destroyed" is definitely an amusing, reflective read.

Did not realize when I borrowed this that it was written in 1967. Was just hard to get into

Simone de Beauvoir ripped my heart out, and I said, “thank you.”
