I don't think I would have enjoyed this nearly as much without Tessa Thompson's narration. She carried this sometimes rambling yet intriguing Harlem Renaissance story.
Defo would translate well on film!

I thought this was going to be more similar to The Vanishing Half. The concept is pretty similar at surface level - two light-skinned black women, one decides to live her life passing as white and the other does not. This definitely seemed more woman-loses-her-mind-esque though, definitely not the story I thought I was going to get.
