I loved this book! I like shifter books alright, but they’re not my favorite. This book, however was fantastic! I can’t wait to read more of the series. I may not be a complete shifter convert, but I am definitely a fan of the author. I think i could read anything she wrote. She was able to pull me in. I felt all the feelings for the characters and fell into the world she created. So good!

Pyro, Pyro, Burning Bright is the debut novel of the author Miri Stone, though the talent of the author shines bright right from the first page of the book; for she has given the readers a paranormal romance that intrigues, shocks and soothes the reader’s soul.

At the start of the book, we have our spunky gal, Mackenzie; who wakes up to the a carnage by fir, with a voice in her head, that sounds suspiciously more alive than it should and an instinct to run, seconded by the voice that somehow she knows is an integral part of her life and her soul.

Turns out, Mackenzie is a whole new entity, not just to the reader but also to herself – I can’t even begin to describe how hilariously emotional it was to be the part of the journey Mackenzie takes to find herself and what a privilege it was as well.

On the other hand, we the Fire Chief of a small town, Bear Falls (the name of the town is a BIG Clue!)– Ryan; an alpha with a rag tag crew, who are also a clan he didn’t intend become the alpha of – he has his hands full, trying to keep his clan, all of whom suffer from their own demons and emotional setbacks along with protecting the town, a town that is part of his legacy.

Both Ryan and Mackenzie’s already chaotic lives are thrown for another bigger loop when their paths cross – not only do both of them fight their instinctual reaction to each other (because that makes it even sweeter when they do give in to their instincts) but also have to solve the mysteries surrounding not only Mackenzie’s life but also the “coincidental” fires that seem to crop up through the town.

A slow burn paranormal romance, Miri Stone has given her readers absolutely everything that one loves in this genre – a protective & not cruelly possessive Bear Shifter and a heroine who is spunky, sassy and a kick in the nuts independent – two parts of a puzzle that definitely work together.

We also have an amazing set of secondary characters, whose lives also become of interest as the story progresses; and by the end of a suspense fuelled romance, the reader in me, is every excited to see where and how the rest of the characters end up for their own HEA!
