I really enjoyed this duet. At first it started off a bit slow for me but it gained my interest shortly in & grew from there. I liked both Mara & Cole individually but also together. Cole really pushed Mara & her boundaries to help her grow whereas Mara's influence on him was more subtle & gradual. Both of them grew not only as a couple but individuals & I liked seeing that. Overall the plot wasn't super complicated or anything but it was unique in its own way & had layers to it. I enjoyed getting to know each layer little by little until the whole picture was there. I wish the ending had been a little more drawn out & the epilogue extended I feel like it could be a little open ended for maybe future books & I'd love to read more about them if there ever are.

I have really loved this series. Truthfully all three main characters were good. I was very glad for the way it ended though. One thing about this series for me is that it was a totally new story concept. Some other good things were the continuing growth of the characters, the suspense, the sex and the author even made me laugh a few times. Loved it!

It took me longer to finish this duet than I expected. The plot is good and the second is better than the first, I even liked the protagonists more and it may have been the fact Mara's change of mentality. I've never been a fan of characters with only "good" intentions, so to speak. I am a fan of dark romance because the characters kill, torture, etc. without caring if the reader sees it right or not and when there is a character who is convinced that all those acts are bad regardless of why, they unnerve me. This is probably one of the books I've read so far that I kinda liked all characters regardless of how naive they were. (Hope I explained myself, if not read the book and you'll get it)

So I couldn’t wait to continue Mara and Cole’s crazy journey…
I expected a wild roller coaster ride like in book 1, but here the story slows down and focuses more on Cole and Mara’s relationship: how they learn to live together, fall for each other, with Cole’s psychopath nature and Mara’s dark past hovering over.
So I enjoyed getting to know them and understand why they are who they are.
I definitely would have loved more action, but my romantic heart was satisfied ☺️ and the ending was just amazing!!
This is my 4th book by Sophie Lark and I definitely want to read more
