I was a little reluctant to read at first. It was so different from the other books but I eventually ended up enjoying it more than the others.

For the fourth book in the series, you don't expect many surprises, but this one was definitely one. The story is extremely unique and something I haven't read yet. It's focused on entirely different mythology, that very interesting and mysterious. I was engrossed in it and absolutely loved reading about it and Akiko life story.

She had a very hard life to say the least. I love the way she slowly finds pieces of her life and finds freedom.

I seriously love entire book series, it so fun to read about so many different powers/mythologies and can't wait when the girls finally come together.

Oh Toshi!

Loved it! I read the first 3 books in this series (out of order but it didn't matter because they all happened at the same time) and really liked them. The stories are very interesting and entertaining. Akiko's story was awesome, I loved all the characters. Totally fell in love with Toshi and also with Yuudai even if I knew he wouldn't be for Akiko. I was a bit sad about how the story ended, super sad about Daichi even if he was a villain (kinda). I will continue the series because I'm definitely interested in seeing where the girls go after knowing what they can do and since they are all different it will be interesting I'm sure.
Definitely recommend!

Authentic and compelling story

A.L. Knorr follows up BORN OF EARTH with Akiko's story. Unlike her three friends who start out as regular humans, Akiko begins as a creature of the Aether. Here is where the author shows her knowledge of Japanese mythology and weaves a tale that combines the ancient with the modern from the eyes of a mythical creature who is, at her core, still a young woman. Action packed, this is another must read.
