Chuck Palahniuk will never stop being weird. Want a better written and better story/plot, male author version, of 50 shades? This is your book.

Laughed a lot. Classic Palahniuk: ridiculous, hilarious, salacious, a hyperbole of what society could be in a not-TOTALLY-impossible future.

What the what did I just read?!?!? Chuck, man…no…just no! This was too disturbing, even for you. Nevertheless I was compelled to keep reading (like gawking at a car accident?).
Also, do you know nothing about women at all?!?!?! The male gaze is astonishingly pubescent in this novel. None of us would do any of this (OK *some* would do the first 136 days with Max because he’s filthy rich) — these women just aren’t believable at all.

Traduzione di Gianni Pannofino.
Pagine lette: 86.
Consigliato a stomaci forti e a lettori impavidi!

A tour de force of garbage. I'm a huge Chuck fan. Lullaby is a phenomenal novel. Pygmy has a perverse and subdued brilliance. Even Tell All had some nice surprises. But this book was trash. Just awful. The story is asinine. The plot twists are moronic and unbelievable. And the sex witch is just plan stupid. Hated this book. His last few have been subpar. Hoping this isn't a trend. Even his writing style was different in this one. Oh, where have you gone Chuck?

A good premise but lazy story building in the 2nd half of the book. Still well-written and most importantly fun to read
although the ending is slightly lacking. Good times. Although it’s far from perfect, I enjoyed it and what more can you want from a book? ☀️

Not my fav of Chuck's. I get the satire but I wasn't super entertained by it. It may have also had something to do with the reader of the audiobook. I dunno, it just didn't hit like most of his other books do.
