Another blazing entry into the perfect summer saga. Destiny, puberty(?), and danger collide in this rapid-fire entry.

Another 6 years have passed and things are not going well in the world of vampires, I'm still enjoying the series, like the new characters and like getting to spend time with some old characters, not my favourite of the series though.

So many reasons as to why this book was another big letdown.
1. The first part where Darrens practices being a prince is completely useless and ridiculous. Luckily, we got rid of that rather quickly.
2. Des-Tiny coming in with his weird half-prophecy-half-command is kinda deux-ex-machina, and hosh I hate that.
3. Departure and meeting up with Vanchard is fun. Lady Evanna is a real joy. Although Darren didnt learn any useful thing from his time with Vanchard, which is a waste in my opinion.
4. Reunion with Cirque du Freak is just exactly what I need. Needless to say, that saves the whole book. And I dont really care much about the twist at the end. Still, I’m curious to see how that plays out in the future.

I enjoyed the mystery and build up for next books. Also the time jump seemed like a good but not that important part.

Was a nice introduction to two new characters + lovely seeing the Cirque again.

This was definitely another one of the filler books. Even though this was longer than the last two, not much happened. All they did was start their journey to find the vampanze lord
Spoiler and missed him

It was nice to back at the Cirque Du Freak and see how they've changed. I really like how the author used Evra growing up to really show how much time has passed
Spoiler He married with kids!!

The best part of this book was the introduction of Lady Evanna, another all powerful witch character. She was blunt and doesn't care what people think of her, she's awesome!!
I hope to see more of her in future book (this series is really lacking in female representation!!)

I honestly struggled to read this book. Every page just drained me of energy, and I just want nothing more to do with it. Why can't I just hurry up and finish reading them?

I also found that like Darren Shan's Demonatas series, the books were boring and dragged out, but were ok for the last 3 chapters, and I can now see the repeat cycle happening for this series, damn.
