Oh look four men who help heal the woman they love through bloody revenge and spice đź‘€
And they have a tiger. Enough said honestly.

Her chosen name was mad cliche and cringey. Why give her a new name if they are still going to refer to her as her old one. Heart is my favorite but that’s just because I find psycho protags/love interests fun to read. Also the boys POV were not fun to read. The “villain” was predictable and unbelievable. Interesting concept, mid execution. I wasn’t going into this expecting a literary masterpiece but I would’ve liked better writing.

The way I DEVOURED this book like it was a holiday meal!
While there are some issues:
*no mention of time period but it sounds like maybe anywhere from 40s-60s as there was mention of war and mention of being the "perfect wife" where she cannot work and has to do everything for her man
*the FMC went from very meek and shy to Xena Warrior princess in 0 to 60!
* Roger was always one step behind even though the cirque would drive 5 hours, 6 hours and even 2 days away from the original town.
*There was a chapter with ? POV but one can only assume the way it was written is in Roger's POV so why the ? mark I will never understand unless there was someone else and we have not been introduced to that person just yet.
All those I can get passed. This book is very dark and depraved and some a lot of triggers. The first few chapters are extremely emotional and will pull at your heart strings but those strings will turn into rope and drag you into the rest of the book like Ember and her men drove their nightmares into Hell.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a dark circus theme, why choose, bad ass FMC, masked men and at one point there is use of a hammer in a manner it shouldn't be used (iykyk).
