Sometimes you just want to give a character a shake and tell them to stop being such an idiot. Jo is one such character, recently fired and wallowing in it. When she moves home to her parents, she finds an old "before high school ends bucket list" that she decides will make great content for her rebranded social media presence (because, obviously, that's what the Millennial version of a yuppie does: creates online content for themselves or a job). Where did she grow up? A small town. No further plot description needed.

Yes, this is incredibly predictable. And yet... there were moments when readers will genuinely cheer for Jo, or Bianca, or Autumn. And that elevates this from a two-star.

It was beyond hard for me to finish this book. It had a cute premise, but it kind of felt unfinished. Like Jo & Flo (FloJo if you will), that felt like Lily Anderson thought to make them endgame at the last minute. All the endings after the bonfire just seem kind of thrown together.

Been reading to many romance and contemporary's lately and as I started it, it wasn't what I was in the mood for at the moment and want to reach my end of year reading goal and thought this would slow me down.

Super cute! I got to read the ARC. Nice story about two high school best friends (Jo and Autumn) who haven’t spoken in years because Jo moved away and life got too busy to think about her little hometown. When she loses her job and moves back, she rekindles her friendship with Autumn. Unfortunately, Autumn has now become friends with our main character’s high school nemesis, Bianca. Jo discovers and old bucket list that high-school Jo planned on completing before leaving her hometown, but it never got finished. Jo decides to tackle the list as a fun way to get popular on social media while she is between jobs. I enjoyed reading about each of three character’s lives and backstories, and it was an all-around feel good novel. Three stars because it wasn’t very deep.

The Throwback List is a great book for those who are going through any kind of transition. Focusing on the transition of being laid off from a job, the main character has to move back home with her parents. This would be challenging for anyone, but then add to the stress by having to reconnect with people that you haven't seen in years! Shenanigans ensue. Trees are TP-ed. And relationships are repaired?
