I wish this had been in a straight timeline rather than jumping back and forth.

I also wanted Edward to respond and do all of the things the people asked of him. Like a day as a librarian for the letter about the one who had wanted to work in a library. Or volunteer at hospital for the one that wants to be a doctor. I wanted them to document (well for Shay to document it). Glad they went to the site in the end. He could spend a gap year Living 191 lives accomplishing something each day.

I really enjoyed this book. The story is about a commercial plane crash, in which the sole survivor is a 12-year-old boy. The story is told in two timelines - the weeks and years following the crash and the hours during the flight, leading up to the crash. Throughout the story you get to meet a few of the passengers and learn their back stories. So, in addition to Edward (the survivor) you also feel connected to some of the victims. I thought the author did a great job conveying the trauma endured by Edward and his path to healing. Highly recommend!

Twelve-year-old Eddie Adler is the only survivor of a plane crash that kills his family and 180 other people. The story jumps back and forth between the final moments of the flight and now-Edward’s life after the accident. There are some points that require major suspension of disbelief, but still I found it moving and absorbing. Four and a half stars rounded up.

3.5 I wanted to love this book but it was just ok. The book did a lot more telling than showing as far as character development goes and it fell kind of flat.
