I really liked God of Wrath, but it wasn’t perfect for me. What stood out the most was how Jeremy cared about Cecily’s mental health and her dissociations. That aspect felt fresh and gave their relationship a much deeper layer, something I really appreciated compared to the previous books.

However, I didn’t like the scene where
Jeremy grabbed Cecily by the throat when he thought she was a spy for Landon.
That moment was outside their sexual dynamics and felt like a huge lack of respect—it completely threw me off.

Their relationship overall was nice, and I did enjoy the book, but I couldn’t ignore how repetitive the series is becoming. Across the three books, we always see the same patterns:

  1. a virgin female protagonist,
  2. an obsessive, possessive male lead,
  3. the male lead conveniently hasn’t been with anyone in months and with the female protagonist it’s the first time he doesn’t use protection,
  4. the fact that the male protagonist only kiss withe female protagonist (i mean sounds nice but it happens in every single book so it kinda loss the spark)

I understand it’s dark romance, but it feels unnecessary to repeat so many of the same tropes in every single book.

Overall, I liked God of Wrath more than God of Pain, but it still falls behind God of Malice.

I didn’t do review for any of the books in the series but here are my ratings!

➛ God Of Malice: 2 ★
➛ God Of Pain: 3.5 ★
➛ God Of Wrath: 4 ★
➛ God Of Ruin: 3.5 ★

WARNING: CNC sex is a big theme in this book. Outside of the consenting scenes, there is a lot of physically abusive behavior between the characters. (SPOILER) At one point the MMC almost chokes the FMC to death.

4.25 - it was surely a good time and don’t have much complaints. Even though the spice was pretty quick it still gave me a slow burn feel. I love a fictional man who has trouble showing feelings and gets pissed off about having feelings. Also, took the touch her and you die thing to an extreme and let’s just say it did not lose Jeremy Volkov any brownie points.
