I enjoyed this the most soo far. I actually enjoyed Cecily and Jeremy more than I thought first going in. Gives me hope that maybe the character work is better as the series goes on.

Listen, I'm sorry, I'm nothing but predictable. Rina Kent knows how to write a dark romance that gets you hooked, what can I say.

God of Wrath is the third in the Legacy of Gods series and this time we follow Jeremy and Cecily. Jeremy's mafia upbringing clashes with Cecily's quiet demeanour but all is not as it seems - they're a better pairing than anyone could imagine. Cecily has suffered trauma in her past which has left her unable to express herself, sexually, in the way she'd like. Turns out, Jeremy is more than happy to oblige. Meaningless sex turns into possessiveness, turns into love and it's a tale as old as time, naturally.

Jeremy MIGHT be my favourite MMC in the Legacy of Gods series thus far. He's just... Ugh. Dreamy. But also, he's absolutely morally pitch black, there's no denying it. I'm accepting that Rina writes nothing but red flags and I've made peace with it. His relationship with Cecily is beautiful and following their journey of accepting their feelings for one and other is swoonworthy.

The spice is WILD 🥵 I was obsessed, not gonna lie. I'm enjoying that there's a theme of exploring different kinks in each book and I think God of Wrath might be my favourite so far but I was kind of expecting that (for anyone interested: primal play, blood play - am I outing myself here?)

Heavy themes are touched on with a focus on Cecily's past trauma (check TW), mental health and reclaiming your sexuality. I love how Rina incorporates such heavy themes into her books and treats them with respect; offering a HEA to those who may relate to the characters.

As with the other books in the series, this is a standalone but operates on the same timeline so we get some crossovers, which is always fun! The story follows a similar flow to other books in the series but I'll happily take that because it's impossible to put down, fast-paced and addictive.

I can't wait to continue my Rina Kent journey with God of Ruin next ✨

Note: this is a dark romance and also explores traumatic events - check content warnings prior to reading if you have any triggers.

this has been my least favourite one so far. I didn't enjoy the story or triggers or kinks. and I feel like there was not really any romance.
