The two reasons that we are interested in reading a memoir about Colin Jost are:
1. He is a writer and does Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live.
2. He is engaged to Scarlett Johansson.

He spends a good amount of time in this book talking about SNL. And I enjoyed that a lot. As someone who has been into the show on and off for over 39 years, I am very interested to read (listen really, as I listened to the audiobook) about what goes on behind the scenes.

But Jost barely mentions his relationship with one of the most famous movie stars in the world! This really felt like a rip-off to me. Does he really think readers are interested enough in just him? No. Scarlett makes him more interesting. And readers want to know how it is that such a non-movie star guy ended up engaged to her.

Missed opportunity, for sure.

I have never paid attention to Colin before but the title and reviews caught my attention. I got the sample and find myself laughing which has been rare so I knew I had to continue. I love he pokes fun of himself throughout the book and also shows us how hardworking he is, as well as such a family man. Upon finishing this book, I’m inspired to do more with my life now.

Perfect audiobook for a road trip. We laughed out loud several times. (Not appropriate for kids, who we didn’t know were listening; and now think it’s hilarious to make coke references.

Many of the stories were very funny and I found myself laughing out loud. Note that I had the audiobook so the references to go buy the book if you’re listening were annoying after a while.
Even tho I only gave it 3 stars I do recommend it for a lighthearted read. Even if it’s just for:
- eggs in legs
- google story
- pooping pants story
