Peaky Blinders meets fantasy. I liked it overall but kinda hated the gendered language a lot of the time. Four peppers.

So many mixed feelings on this book! I felt it had missed opportunities. The magic system was interesting, but where it had a great opportunity to delve into it ( during the school) …it did not. The time frame felt rushed and the story missed many opportunities to provide deeper connections to the characters. The FMC made too many poor decisions, and I really felt no connection to her ( although I really wanted to). The MMC is what kept the story going. His POVs were entertaining. The twists were fun and the ending very good..so I will probably read book 2 when released.
