Really interesting! I just watched the movie and didn’t love it and was hoping the book would be better and it was. Probably won’t continue with the series but I did enjoy this one.

If you’re a fan of Andy Weir, this will be right up your alley: another sassy fatalist MMC in space. Mickey didn’t quite do it for me, but that could because I really didn’t like Project Hail Mary and it felt more of the same. The ending though was… hyper anticlimactic and just fizzled out into boredom tbh. More looking forward to the movie? Who knows.

A fun story, but some characters are pretty wooden, and there was a LOT of throat clearing rather than plot. Clearly written as the first book of the series, in a way that hurt the book.

I really liked the movie so I thought I’d check out the book and I’m so glad I did! I see that the movie was “inspired by” the novel, but I did find the plot of the novel to be a lot more interesting overall. I listened to the audiobook and really enjoyed the narration as well.
