shockingly timely and also funny? the world building worked for me, as did the various characters that felt very alive. a bit of the more technical science stuff was meh for me as a self-proclaimed non-science fiction fan, but overall it was still an engaging and interesting read.

This was an excellent story, very different from the movie but I still really enjoyed it! I don’t think the book was better than the movie but also the movie wasn’t better than the book ~ both equally good— both had similar messages but the movie was more relevant to present times, if that makes sense for a sci fi lol. Mickey 17 was one of my favorite movies from this year and I was very excited when my library hold on Libby came in— the book did not disappoint. The main reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because I didn’t feel at any point like I need to know right now what happens and so I took my time with it. Highly recommend though : )
