This booked dragged on yet it was hard to set aside. It was the sort of book I wanted to DNF multiple times as well as continue it, finish it quickly yet have it never finish. The book has no concise ending when it comes to character development and the last page had me confused, did he or didn’t he leave the *spoiler* tram?

This book treats you as if you already know what is happening, and you just coast through every problem and character already knowing them, when in fact you don’t.

I would like to add that I constantly felt tense throughout this book so if you don’t want that sort of emotion when reading, this isn’t a good pick.

It is a wonderful book yet at the same time I wonder how it got the Nobel Prize since I have no idea how to retell the storyline fully.

All in all, a very confusing book but worth a read (sort of a page tuner which you don’t understand but you follow it because it’s interesting). No wonder it is considered one of the hardest books to read and I am glad I did it. Ishiguro is one of my favourites but he has me baffled now, which is what I most enjoy about a book.
