3.5 It's obvious Jordan either doesn't like women much or just had so little contact with them he doesn't really know what they're like (human beings, maybe?). In his books they are all shallow, unreasonable, arrogant to the point of stupidity, or just plain annoying (more or less). Men as characters do get a bit of development and depth but women just... don't. But putting that aside (and miraculously, I was able to), if you don't expect much from the story and you can ignore the repetitious descriptions of people/situations/thoughts, you can have fun with it, which I mostly did. Last time I read this I was in high school still, and I got to book #9 before dropping the series. It was easy to drop because there was no end in sight at that point. Now I know there are 12 books and I am half way through the damn thing and I'm not gonna quit now.

Another great entry in the wheel of time series. I really enjoyed most of the characters in this book. However I feel that this time the story went on a bit too long.

I had the feeling that rand was actively avoiding having character development.
But the way his inner struggles are evolving are quite interesting.

A lot of the story development was done quite well. Yet I feel there should be a little more impactful moments. The book was still very enjoyable though.

I hope the series will not become too repetitive. But If the books keep up the same quality that won't be an issue.

I can see why this series loses a people around this book, but I like it. It was definitely a little slow, but with such a big series there’s a lot of build up and I don’t mind. There was a lot of Aes Sedai to keep track of in this book, but it was interesting to learn more about them and I’m excited to see how the politics of the White Tower will play more into the story.

My favorite in the series so far. At times, it can be slow, but that goes without saying when reading WoT. The ending was incredible, and for the first time since ending book 1, I want to immediately hop into the next.
