crazyly intricate plot with lots of small set up and pay offs through out that the book didnt feel that long. amy was so unhinged but in a way that made sense? for the most part…the last 10% did lose my a little.

overall, veryyy entertaining, pacing was so well crafted, def will be recommending to people

Ok so I thought this was going to be a “good for her” book, but I was wrong. I so desperately want a different ending, but alas this isn’t The Perfect Marriage. But ignoring that, I fucking loved this book. I listened to the audiobook through Libby and the narrators were so great. I’m excited to see how the book compares to the movie, so I’m going to watch that next.

The second half was great and the ending was terrible and i loved it. But i hated the first half. I liked no one in the first half and i usually enjoy unlikable characters. I dont know if the second half was enjoyable enough for the first half to be worth it though

Four stars for plot complexity, for unpredictable characters, for not caving to the cultural expectation of a happy ending.
I really did want a happy ending though, mostly for Rhonda Boney.

I listened to this on audiobook, and I don't know whether that affected my experience negatively or positively. If negatively, then I liked it even less.
Pros:
- creative, twisty, almost trippy storyline
- psychological twists and ideas
- definitely gothic
Cons:
- too much crazy
- kind of graphic in a way that I'm not sure was necessary... jury's still out on that one.

This book is about 200 pages too long. Take out all the foul language and you might get rid of about that many pages. The storyline is unique, but it is also somewhat disturbing. I had hoped for a better book given all the hype.

At first, it took me a while to get through the beginning, but once I got into the story, I could not put it down!! Such a great read! Looking forward to reading more from this author.
