Cute
Its a cute little story, very unconventional. While a bit rote in parts, and an obvious ending, it's still a charming little book.

Entertaining with a slight religious overtone but not enough to detract from the story which I enjoyed enough to read the follow-up Goodness Gracious Green

Free kindle download.
Small town newspaper stuff is OK at best. Too much God/inspiration stuff. Plot thin but I got the impression that they were mostly setting up the people/situation for future books.
Since it was free, I can't complain. It was great to read while traveling when I didn't have the time/inclination to concentrate much on a more serious story.

Gone To Green (The Green Series Book 1) by Judy Christie – This series is on kindle unlimited, but the first book was an Amazon freebie. I have never had a book that reads more like a small town than this one. If you like snappy pacing and minimal “local color,” you are gonna wanna throw things at me for saying I loved it. But I did! It took me a while to wade through some of the slower spots, but I am invested in this community and these characters. And I think if you will give it a fair shake, you will love it too! Happy Reading!

This was a kindle freebie and the first book in the Green series. For a freebie, it was very enjoyable. It technically is Christian Lit, but it isn't really preachy - Church is just a prominent part of the small town of Green's life. This was also the best book of the series.

Very simple story about small town Louisiana. I like the characters, but I will admit, my favorite part is the tidbits about Louisiana. The author mentions LaTech in it, as well as Shreveport, Monroe, and many cultural traditions there. It's a fun read. Not life-changing, but worth my time. :)

A freebie I got for my Kindle. I had no idea it was the first in a series, but I see now that another one is out or coming out soon, to continue the story. Still, a very light, easy stand-alone read. It's Christian fiction, probably chick-lit, so right up my alley :) The premise is a newspaperwoman from Dayton Ohio inherits a small newspaper in small town North Louisiana. Since my sister is in the newspaper biz, this one appealed to me really well!
