'Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #2' by Julie Benson with art by Claire Roe kicks off "Who is Oracle" with a bang.
Santo is the link to Oracle and he's in a car with Batgirl and Jim Gordon heading to a safe house, but it's not going to be an easy drive. Black Canary and Huntress are riding point to protect the cargo, but Jim Gordon is not convinced these ladies can handle things and wants to call in someone else. Huntress is still a bit of a loose cannon at this point, and who is Oracle anyway?
I like this title. The action has been pretty good, and I think the team dynamic works pretty well. There are some really great one-liners thrown in and I liked the cameo appearance in the issue because it wasn't used to upstage things.

Okay so issue #2 is way better than the first issue by a long shot. I honestly don't get why they decided to name this "BATGIRL and the birds of prey" as opposed to just being named "Birds of prey", don't get me wrong Babs is one of my faves but I just don't get it?
But anyway back to issue #2, loved the progression of the story, Batman appears but only for a second which is good because this doesn't really concern him. I love Dinahs funny remarks which makes this issue far more enjoyable than the first. Huntress still seems shady but I like her, really excited to see more of her.
Can't wait for the next issue!

There wasn't a ton that really stuck with me on this one.
Let me say, I feel a little odd about Babs' characterization. I mean, the Burnside run split Babs fans down the middle because a lot of us thought it was horrible and there were some who loved it. I'm still fairly new to Babs and I've read more about her being Oracle than I have read about her being Batgirl. Even I noticed that the change in outfit seemed to come with a regression in personality. Babs acts kind of... immature. I don't hate it but it just seems so unlike the Babs in the Birds of Prey books that I loved.
I don't know. Maybe it's because it's Rebirth but it's jarring.
Anyway, not a lot of character development happens. There's some progress in the team trusting Huntress. I liked the sparring between Helena and Dinah. That's about it.
I guess Gordon worrying about Babs was kinda cute.
Eh, I'll read the next one.

Was giving this book one last chance to impress me and it totally succeeded. Action packed with some nice character stuff and actual funny dialogue. Also, Batman called Huntress "purple person." That alone convinces me to read at least one more issue.
