Read almost in a single sitting. SO wonderful and funny and smart and unexpected. An absolute delight. Brilliant characters that are completely original and appealing. Terrific read.

Such an enjoyable read! Quick, smart, entertaining. Loved it
This was a delightful story that I didn’t want to end. There is so much to love about it. Every character is entertaining, especially the genius dog who helps with science experiments and parenting a human child. The time period is a character in itself as it shapes peoples’ behaviours and circumstances. The book hilariously critiques patriarchy, 1950’s societal norms, religion, and science. I think what I love most is that its main character is firmly principled, honest, and determined. Her refusal/inability to fit in highlights the absurdity of the world around her in contrast. It makes me wonder what could be if I never doubted myself despite outside pressures.
i dont think i’ve ever cried more or harder during a book. i lost count how many times.
