It took me ages to finish this because my library hold lapsed and I had to wait in line again!!!! Torture!
I loved getting to look into Maud’s life, after just a glimpse in the first book. She seemed like such a compelling character then, and A Restless Truth allowed her to shine. Overall, this book really illuminated the power of female friendship and grit it required to be a woman in a man’s world.
The romance felt so tender and special and honest. I’m not sure if I would have loved Violet if I didn’t get to see the way she handled Maud like a delicate wonder.
I really do want to see what happens with Hawthorne and Ross. Clearly we have an enemies to lovers, opposites attract scenario about to unfold.

i absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED Maud and Violet's romance (including the sex, which was possibly the best written i've ever read and made me quite emotional).
the mystery plot was fun, but i couldn't help feeling like some things were given for granted and not explained thoroughly enough. maybe it was my fault, since i dived into this rabid for lesbianism and magic without taking into consideration that i should've read the first book in the series first 🤷🏻♀️
