This was a slow read for me because, while the story was interesting, the pace was slow and none of the individual plot points were very compelling. The romance was very sweet and I do love spending time in this world. I appreciate how the author is building out the magic system and how the women and marginalized people of this world have created a rich alternative way of using the magic.
