This is a book that it's very much the sum of it's part. One of the greatest southern gothic family dramas I've ever read........that just happened to be a horror.
This has one of the greatest families I've read in fiction, a family of soft men and powerful women, all of whom are terribly flawed yet magically loveable. Elinor is a wonderful character and her relationships to everyone were fantastic.
Not since a Mike Flanagan show have I felt so emotional over a horror. A truly epic story
