As an introspective long distance runner myself, I thoroughly enjoyed Murakami’s reflections on the sport which we both keep coming back to year after year.

Magnifico, un pizzico ossessivo in certe abitudini ma, se si riesce a cogliere tutto il buono di questo libro si guadagnano enormi insegnamenti.
Ora ho voglia di correre.

More books like this where famed authors just ramble on and on about their daily lives and musings, please. Because someone please explain to me why I enjoyed this a lot more than certain novels of his ???

3.8 ⭐️ I liked this book, might even consider getting into running. I'm also glad I now have a more human perspective on Haruki Murakami.

This was just fine. I don't think I'm taking anything away from it but it was a pretty pleasant read.

This is a really bad book. Murakami spends the whole time just sort of rambling on about his running history. There is this cycle throughout the book: he first describes a big sporting event he attends, then describes the physical difficulties he encounters doing it and finally tries to conjure some sort of painful aphorism about life that ties running and writing as acts together.
