I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. It was insightful and very relatable. I’d definitely recommend to other runners out there.

For such a talented writer, I was surprised at how boring the writing was. There was also a lot of talk about weight, “flab,” diet talk, etc. I found it very off-putting.

This was interesting to me purely because I am in the midst of a running kick. I do wonder pretty much everyday how he manages to run 10k every single day. Mostly though this book is fun for me to reference in conversation ("I read this biography about running and he ran 100km and blah blah blah no one is listening). "And one of the privileges given to those who’ve avoided dying young is the blessed right to grow old. The honor of physical decline is waiting, and you have to get used to that reality."

Probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they were really into Murakami as a writer or running as a hobby. Nevertheless, its given me a nice perspective shift while I get back into a groove with my own running.
