A good collection that hit the sweet spot of childhood memories. Includes the gripping tale of the death of Jeanne DeWolfe at the hands of the Sin Eater.

Volume 5 in the Essential compilation series.
Spectacular Spider-Man was always my 2nd favorite comic from the 80's (after Amazing Spider-Man). Great art and great characters. The writing had hot and cold streaks depending on who was the writer at the time - the stories in this compilation were pretty good, a little more gritty than ASM but not as dark as Web of Spider-Man.
