You can tell the age of the story, but the characters are really fun. She is like Deadpool.

Alright, it is official. I am absolutely hooked on this series!!! For me this is one of those series that makes me laugh out loud as I read it and think that the author is someone I would love to have margaritas with. Anyone who can come up with all of Charley's commentary would be a blast. My only complaint is that I have to wait until January 31st for the next book!!!

So many things happened in this book it's a little overwhelming.

The story definitely gripped me but I don't think I will want to reread and reread this in the future because of what it made me go through. The angst about Reyes is too much.

Still good writing though, and I'd probably want to read the next books but I think I need a break.

Wise-cracking, coffee-chugging grim reaper Charley Davidson is back, and this time she's racing to save both her supernatural boyfriend's corporeal body and her best friend's (regular human) friend. She's not that great of a private investigator, but being able to see and talk to the dead does give her a distinct advantage. Also, she heals freakishly fast, which is a useful skill to have, given that people and demons are hunting her down, trying to kill her.

I devoured this second book just as fast as the first...only now I have to wait until January for the next one! Augh!! Third Grave Dead Ahead is scheduled to come out in January 2012. I will be placing it on hold as soon as the catalog record is available.

For readers' advisors: story and character doorways. There is some sexual content, although less than in the first book.
