"Pride and Prejudice" follows Elizabeth Bennet, the second of five daughters. Throughout the course of the novel, we get to see Elizabeth struggle to deal with issues related to manners, upbringing, and marriage. When two new men move into the neighborhood, the five Bennet daughters' lives are entirely altered when they finally have the opportunity to wed a good man. Some of the daughters swoon at the idea of finding love, while others struggle to come to terms with the life being forced upon them.
I really enjoyed seeing a strong female lead who did not simply wish to be wed. Not only was this scandalous at the time, but it laid the groundwork for future novels and women. Elizabeth has a mind of her own, and she is strong independently. She does not need a partner to hold her up, and I loved every second of it. I think she navigates the nuances of her world beautifully.
I had a really great time with this story, and I am happy to have finally read the infamous "Pride and Prejudice".

Darcy's willingness to learn from Elizabeth and take accountability to make things right I found so endearing! I love the message in that! And their chemistry was great.
I saw a lot of myself in Elizabeth and a lot of my sister in Jane actually, which made it even more fun to read.
It was also interesting to see how old these popular tropes are! The absurdity of rom coms has and always will be there! Overall I just think the whole book was so well executed and did what it ser out to do so well!
