It took me a little while to really get into this book, but once I had the chance to connect with the characters, I was hooked and raced through it. I’m a new reader to science fiction and fantasy, so this was surprising to me that I would enjoy it so much. The story actually starts off pretty exciting and then cranks up until the end..
I don’t think I can cope with life after reading that ending. That twist was just catastrophic. I’m (figuratively) dead. I loved the writing, atmosphere, world and the characters (except for Cricket)
I'm speechless! How is this book not more popular? It's going straight into my favorites shelf!

Here is a book that I started reading based on a recommendation from a friend and a copy I nabbed for free.
A few chapters in a didn't think I would enjoy it at all because the whole futuristic yet post apocalyptic robot civilization thing doesn't really interest me at all. However, I very quickly became addicted to the story and the characters. I needed to know how it ended.
Kristoff really does have a unique writing style which I actually really enjoyed and found useful. Different fonts for different speakers? Sounds weird but it works. The only downside for me was that it was slightly predictable and the plot twists were things I already predicted. In saying that, reading it as it happened was still very enjoyable.
I would recommend Lifelike to any YA fan. Especially one that wants a break from the usual trope.

I couldn't care less about the story line or the characters. The slang is super annoying and I can't force myself to finish it.
Maybe I can only read Jay Kristoff books when he co-writes with someone else. Now on to something I will actually enjoy!

This glorious book baby was one wild ride! I was invested in this right from the finish. This story just resonated with me. The world building was profound and visceral. The characters grip you by the bits and don’t relent. This book made me an emotional mess. In all the best ways! Kristoff’s writing is clever and unique! Really can’t wait for the second Installment! Hats off to you Mr Kristoff! #stillcrying
