What a rollercoaster! I did not see the end coming at all and am intrigued to see where the next book goes. Loved it.

It feels so different reading a YA book from Jay Kristoff. It's so different from Nevernight and that's a good thing. Good to change it up. I really enjoyed this story and the characters were a lot of fun.
So this book gave me strong Anastasia vibes and I loved that. Eve's whole family was killed 2 years ago and Eve was also shot in the head but her Grandfather was able to save her. She had been living in the Dregs since these events and had been building a robot fighter to win battles and earn money to get medication for her grandfather. Earth has pretty much gone to shit and there are robots everywhere.
I really like it when the 3 laws of robotics are used in any form of storytelling. It's why I love I Robot so much. It just makes a lot of sense for a robot rebellion story.
During the reading of this book I had so many theories going through my head. I did hear that there were some intense plot twists to this story and I am glad to say I WAS RIGHT ON THE BIGGEST ONE!
I really liked Eve as a character. She was snarky and strong and she had so much fight in her and doesn't stop to save the people she cares about.
Lemon Fresh was so sassy and I loved that she's only 15 but seems so old.
I loved the relationship between Eve and Lemon. I also really liked the two year age gap because it really added depth to the relationship and was also just different to like every other book.
Ezekiel wasn't my favourite. he's a Lifelike, so basically a robot, but he was so boring and had zero personality. I just wasn't a fan. He was pretty badass though and had a lot of strengths.
I also loved Cricket and Kaiser and having some central characters be like the classic robots. Cricket was so funny, Jay really writes these types of characters well. Kaiser was also great and a dog so yay.
So Preacher wasn't much of a villain. More of an annoyance because he just kept popping up at the worst times and the bitch just wouldn't die.
Overall, I really loved this book and was quiet surprised by it because I didn't expect to feel as much as I did.

Phenomenal book with incredible world-building - not even just landscapes, but culture and language - amazing characters you can't help but love (go incredible female friendship!), sharp writing that crackles on the page, action that whips through your mind like a movie, and twists that honestly surprised me! This book astounded me, and I highly recommend it for lovers of sci-fi!

I had a feeling about this. Loved the twist that Kristoff put in there.
Wow. I absolutely adored this book. It has that perfect blend of humour and sincerity, action and romance, and it's 100% worth reading for Lemon Fresh (character) alone. Then there's the addition of a badass female lead, gorgeous lifelike's and the best narration and dialogue I've read in a while. Jay doesn't ever over-explain, he relies on his reader to figure slang out and it only aids in making this entire world feel believable. Mad Max meets Bladerunner. I bloody loved it!
