This is definitely a book that I need to reread as there was just so much inside it that I feel that I missed. It was lovely and fantastical and light, but I feel that there were messages that I missed as I struggled to work out what the story was and who the characters were.
This is the book I have been looking for. Feminist, of a non-western culture, and focused on women. Beautiful. Looking forward to reading the others in this series.

Very good fantasy novella, well-written and well-plotted.
This book was beautifully written, and very intentional in what it was doing, I’m just not sure I understood what the book was doing.
