Somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars.
I'm on a Zapata reading spree.
I love her work. This is no different than any of her other work. A great read, full of laughs, a bit of heartbreak and a lot of figure skating.

Unlike her usual slow burn friends-to-lovers work, Zapata brings a slow burn enemies-to-friends-to-lovers type of scenario. And I loved it! Now to be honest at first when I started reading I couldn’t see how it would work, the animosity between them was thick. Like THICK. However, the more you read the more you realise that perhaps that animosity was fueled by something more.
I think some people won’t like Jasmine, however, she is one of my favorite heroines from Zapata so far. I loved her take-no-shit attitude and ambition. Jasmine didn’t take shit from anyone and was single minded in attaining her goals with the only opinions she cared about being those from her loved ones. Ivan we got to know in slow degrees as Jasmine let her guard down around him and his arrogant self-confidence in his skating suddenly became more attractive as it became balanced by his vulnerabilities in other areas of his life.
My only issue is that I think Ivan could and should have been given more attention in terms character development. I would have loved to hear about his background story.

I really liked it BUT the slow burn was waaaaaay too slow. Overall, the book is a little bit repetitive (because I’m sure I understood that Ivan has pretty pink lips the first time…and the next 100) and there were some things that the love interest did that would’ve been creepy in any other context.

Mira no puedo más con que se insulten todo el rato y que de repente Ivan no tenga personalidad y simplemente sea un sobreprotector que sólo vive para Jasmine, y que Jasmine se queje (vía monólogo interno) todo el rato.
