Ein Buch über drei Unsympathen in drei Jahrhunderten, die durch ihre eigene Sturheit schwierige Situationen noch schwieriger machen. Mir ist völlig unklar woher der Hype um das Buch kommt - es ist nicht schlecht, aber nicht annähernd so gut wie ich es nach all dem gehörten Lob erwartet hätte.

I'm between three and four starts for The History os Bees. I thought the story was catchy in many moments but the constant moving between the three main characters, after very short chapters that almost always ended on cliff-hangers, was rather annoying. I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it took longer on each character before moving to the next. I also thought there was some conflict missing from the climax of each story, especially William's. You just keep hoping either he will finally tell Rahm to go to hell, Edmund to grow up, or that Charlotte will leave him alone and go be great by herself while he wastes his time on his precious little prince of a son. It was difficult to want things to work out for William. Tao and George, as characters, were more engaging.
It was an entertaining read, but you're left with the impression that something was missing.
